Tannya Khanna co-ordinated the event and also told a story to the children in the form of song. Children performed in front of their parents/grandparents. Keep the music going as that’s the only one chord which keeps the world connected!

Dr Anirudh Kala in conversation with Nirupama Dutt about his new novel The Unsafe Asylum -Stories of partition and madness.
Dr Anirudh talked about the impact of partition on the mental health of the people and trauma of a lifetime that they suffered. He also narrated the stories of a few mental patients and how they coped up with partition.

Short dramatized readings by Poonam Singh and Amritsar’s established artist Jagdish Sachdeva, Vijay Sharma and Sudesh Winkle. Followed by singing of new bolis with Sufu Authority Dr Iqbal Kaur anad Gidda with some spirited ladies of Amritsar with dholak and algoza.

A story telling session by Nazi Puri with more than 25 children in attendance. A drawing session which engages the children with the story—The Blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond was also organised.
Café Kikli – Opening a Pop-UP book cafe, 14 July, 2018
Majha House has opened a new and exciting library cum book café. This is something that Amritsar does not have—a community space that allows for the building of a vibrant book reading culture.
There was a discussion around a book with the author and two discussants. There was a music performance organized as well with local talent. More than
70 people came to attend the session. This again shows the need for such platforms and spaces in the city.

Children’s Violin Recital, June, 2018
Four young children and their Violin Teacher Mr Misra performed at the Annex at Majha House to a small, engaged audience. The idea was to showcase young talent and also to provide a platform for such activities in the community.
